Early Neurological Stimulation

This has been ongoing for a couple of days now.  The pups don’t seem to be too worried about the weird positions, although there is a little struggle when on their backs, but this soon stops, bearing in mind that the positions are only held for 3 to 5 seconds.  The Thermal stimulation is very interesting as the pups become immobile when in contact with the cold surface for about 1 second, then they start moving away.  The surface is a damp washcloth which has been refrigerated for 5 minutes before the pup is placed on it.

Tactile Stimulation

Because the female is more active than the male I expected more of a struggle from her, but they are both pretty calm.  She is more vocal than he is, although they are equally determined when it comes to finding a teat.  She just makes more noise about it than he does.  Typical female!  😉
